Services

What I handle — and what you get back.

Five core services where most of my work sits, plus add-ons that usually get folded in once we're already working together. Every one of them ends in a defined deliverable, not billed hours with nothing to show for them.

Core services

The five I lead with.

These are the ones I do most often, and the ones I'm fastest at.

Online research

Market, vendor, supplier, prospect, or topic research. You describe the question; I come back with an answer you can act on and the sources behind it.

You get: a structured report — Summary, Method, Findings table, Key Observations, Sources — in your format of choice (Doc, PDF, or Sheet).

Competitor research

A structured view of your competitive landscape: who's out there, what they offer, what they charge publicly, how they position, and how they're rated.

You get: a comparison table across your chosen competitors, plus a written Key Findings section — the gaps, the patterns, and where you're over- or under-priced. Every figure verified against the source.

Data entry & spreadsheet organization

Getting information out of PDFs, forms, invoices, email threads, and scattered files, and into one structured sheet that's actually usable.

You get: a single sheet with consistent columns, validated fields, frozen headers, and a short note on any rows where the source data was incomplete or contradictory.

Excel & Google Sheets cleanup

The list that's been growing sideways for three years. Duplicates, mixed capitalisation, four phone formats, three date formats, stray whitespace.

You get: a cleaned file — your original untouched — plus a one-page summary of exactly what changed, and ambiguous rows highlighted for your call rather than silently guessed.

General administrative support

The recurring tail: document prep, list maintenance, follow-up tracking, file and folder organization, and the small tasks that individually take ten minutes and collectively take your Friday.

You get: the task done, plus — for anything recurring — a documented process, so month two takes half as long as month one.

Recurring work

The second month should cost you less time than the first.

For anything that repeats monthly, I document the exact steps the first time through and build a repeatable process around it. Your price stays the same; the turnaround gets shorter and the output gets more consistent.

Add-ons

Usually added once we're already working together.

Available as standalone projects too — they're just not what I'd lead with if you're trying to decide where to start.

Document formatting

Reports, proposals, and contracts made consistent and readable — styles, headings, tables, numbering, and a table of contents that updates itself.

PowerPoint presentations

From your raw material to a clean, consistent deck. Structure, layout, charts, and a version you can actually reuse next quarter.

Meeting notes & summaries

A fixed format every time: Decisions · Action Items with owners · Open Questions · Next Meeting. Reviewed against the recording, because transcription tools mangle names and numbers.

Email drafting

Outreach, follow-ups, client updates, and the replies you've been avoiding — drafted in your voice for you to send.

Content & document creation

One-pagers, service descriptions, SOPs, and internal documentation built from a consistent template library.

Weekly task & tracking sheets

Trackers that don't rot: conditional formatting, status summaries, and a structure simple enough that people actually keep it updated.

Being straight with you

What I don't do.

A short list is more useful than a long one. If you ask me for something outside this, I'll tell you on the call rather than after you've paid.

Canon Consulting is not a general labour pool and not a "we do everything" agency. It's a small support practice built around a specific set of recurring problems.

Ask if your task fits
  • Bookkeeping, payroll, tax filing, or anything requiring an accounting credential
  • Legal, medical, or financial advice
  • Software development, web development, or IT support
  • Cold calling, telemarketing, or phone-based sales on your behalf
  • Graphic design, branding, or video production
  • Scraping, bulk-purchasing personal data, or anything that puts your compliance at risk

Not on this list and not sure? Ask. The answer is either "yes, here's how I'd approach it" or "no, but here's what I can take off your plate instead."

Tell me what's piling up.

Fifteen minutes on a call and you'll know whether this is worth doing — including if the answer is no.
